Lake Manyara National Park Overview
Lake Manyara National Park is a compact yet diverse wildlife haven located in northern Tanzania, at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Covering approximately 330 square kilometers, it is celebrated for its scenic beauty, lush groundwater forests, and the alkaline lake that attracts thousands of flamingos.

Despite its small size, Lake Manyara offers rich biodiversity. It is home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and the famous tree-climbing lions. The park also hosts more than 400 bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. You’ll find everything from pelicans and storks to hornbills and kingfishers.
